PTT over Cellular extends the push-to-talk interaction model of traditional radio to the cellular network. Instead of a direct radio-to-radio or radio-through-repeater transmission, PoC devices send voice data as packets over 4G LTE, which is then received and played back on other PoC devices in the same talk group within milliseconds. PoC is not a replacement for traditional radio in all environments — it depends on cellular network availability.
